11 Healthier Halloween Spooky Treats
If you know me then you know I’m not a big halloween fan for many reasons but I really do enjoy making cute little treats and more importantly I also love showing you how you can totally enjoy the holidays and kick the ungodly amounts of sugar, artificial food coloring, seed oils all while still making fun treats for your family.
Down below you will see 12 Spooky treats for you and your fam whether you make them for family night, a Saturday activity or a fun party. Each treat below has the details as well as a link to see the video “HOW-TO” so you can follow along and also get your little kids involved in the fun. Just click on the photo below each recipe title.
By the way, it’s so important to get your kids in the kitchen from a young age. Yes -things will get messy and each recipe will require LOTS more patience when working with your kids but the memories you will make together are worth every precious moment.
The best natural food coloring - stock up on this stuff so you have it for the holidays. It’s made from plants! These are my favorite sprinkles!
Easy PB cups
Note: These are such a family fav! They are super easy to make and very delicious. You can use a different nut butter or seed butter if you can’t have/don’t like peanut butter.
Orange “Oreo” Sandwich Cookies
Note: I don’t use conventional Oreos. These are sandwich cookies from Catalina Crunch. They are keto friendly, low carb, gluten free and low sugar. I also use a natural food coloring which is linked here.
Spooky Mummy Brownies
Note: use whichever brownies you’d like for this cutie treat. they look so cute on a spooky charcuterie board or when you have made a bunch and have them all lined up.
Cucumber Skulls
Note: These are so fun for any snack platter and are pretty easy to make, too. Plus I like that it’s another veggie on the plate.
Chocolate Ants On A Log
Note: this is such a classic (year-round) treat and a great way to add in some more veggies.
Chocolate Spiderwebs
Note: These easy-to-make cutie spiderwebs will turn any cake, cookies, brownies or even snack plates into perfect Halloween treats. You only need one ingredient… chocolate. You could whip up a bunch of these in no time at all! It’s okay if they all look a little different, too.
Ghost BOOnanas
Note: I hope I didn’t scare you with these frightening ghosts! Don’t worry, they are just bananas. These will make your snack plate or lunch extra spooky!
Chocolate Dipped Apples
Note: Caramel apples can be tricky for kiddos to eat, so here’s a great alternative… and the kids can get involved! Sliced apples are easier for kiddos to eat and decorate whether you make them in round sizes or small wedges (like in this vid).
Cutest Pumpkin’ Brownies
Note: Hey pumpkin! How adorbs are these brownies? You can still enjoy the holidays and all the spooky treats while avoiding artificial food colorings and flavorings.
