A very vague rule of thumb is that if you can't pronounce it then you probably shouldn't eat it. Even if you are choosing organic that's a great start but organic packaged foods can still contain lots of sugar, sodium, fat or calories and even worse: organic seed oils. According to a study from Nutrients over 80,000 foods were analyzed and it was found that the organic products did have significantly fewer ingredients that were associated with negative health effects. (Nutrients. 2021;13[9]:3020). So organic is definitely a great place to start… but “organic” products can still contain seed oils.
